A friend of mine gave a GP power battery charger . Behind it is written Output: DC 2.8 V ---100 mm A (AA size). I have been charging on it Energerizer rechargeable Nickel hydride battery 2100 mAh.

I am wandering if this charger could charge other Nickel hydride batteries rated 2300 mAh or higher. Please comment as I am new to using rechargeable batteries. Please also recommend other value for money brands that I could use as well. many Thanks.

It shouldn't be any problem. Just that a larger capacity battery may take longer to charge, that's all. You can still use your current charger. :bsmilie:

Sryz for being a nub.... I hope socrates wont blame me for adding this to his post.

I hope I can lend a chance in asking you guys whether it is possible to charge different brands of battery on a charger ???

For example, I am using a sony charger BCG-34HRMD which have a refresh function

http://www.sony-asia.com/battery/chargers.htm.

Can I use other brands batteries like sanyo 2300mah ? and make use of its refresh function???

Thank you :)

yes. all brands can be charged regardless of charger. (correct me if im wrong)

btw, sony batts are made by sanyo :)
