nice photos .... what mode u use for the 3rd photo?

Just iA mode :)

erm, no offence but i think u r consoling urself cos u didnt get the LX3 cos of the price. Go read the dpreview - some bro mentioned dpreview compared a few other prosumer compacts w LX3 and LX3 got the best recommendation. Also the "Pictures from LX3" everyday is adding on so need I say more?

Oh ya,:sweatsm: love to see u using the :lovegrin:pink rose tone:lovegrin: too

Consoling myself? No le. Price? I can well afford 10 LX3s. Buying decision based solely on needs, not on what others think works for them. :)

Reviews r reviews. i use them as ref only, not holy doctrine that governs my choice.

If u buy base on what other says & tech reviews, where do u stand?

you are naive.

online reviews are always biased..... never trust them totally

there's a price difference of at least $250 between LX3 and FX38 leh...... that's a tidy sum of $$.

to spend another $250, some ppl got to think carefully.

u think LX 3 is very good? some DSLR users will say u are dumb to get LX3 when u pay another $200 more and can get a real DSLR already......

its the same statement you just made to this FX38 owner.....

450 vs 690
abit noise vs lesser noise
compact vs lesser compact
no flash gun vs can have flash gun

both camera is good in their own way
and like what donut88 said
250 is not really a small amount..

to each his own...let's just focus on FX38...here are more photos taken with the FX38...no editing done...colour shots are in iA mode while b&w were shot in regular mode.

Bravia,

Nice photos you got there, you have done well.

rontth - thanks for your compliments. let just say i was trying to find a way to keep myself entertained while the ladies were shopping and as the camera began to reveal its strengths to me, i became more and more inspired. :)

nicekit - here is where the key difference betw the FX38 and LX3 reveals itself...the FX38 doesn't do as well in low light conditions. plus, as i didn't have a tripod with me, i didn't bother taking many night shots.

Here is one example...lots of noise and softness...

Give it light and it shines!

i dont have the FX38 or the LX3 blah blah.... but i am laughing at one of the reply .... the leica owner will tell u get the real one Dlux4 instead ..there's no end for such attitude.

back to FX38...it is a nice little cam with quality output.. i thinkthat's explain why there's a Leica version too, C Lux3...:)

hi Chery08,

Yes i set it to 16:9...i prefer this perspective.

As to why my photos are sharp...well when i compare to your shots the key difference is lighting. Like i said before, you need to feed the FX38 good light to get crisper shots.

Practice more and I am sure you will get better. Look forward to seeing more of your FX38 shots.

Cheers,

:) thanks ... i like that 16:9 too but i think the bad part is about printing out photos huh?
normal 4R will looks strange <-- i like printing 4R :p
i shall try to take more photos with my cam... still loving it deep deep

I have an fx38 too and I love the quality of the photos, but I cannot get bokeh. How do you manually set it? i've gotten it once or twice, but by accident. Lol. Like this one (don't talk about composition or wat lah) which I did under manual mode. :bsmilie:

Took this in sunset mode, the colours a bit exaggerated but I liked the overall effect.

And my favourite mode has to be film grain mode where the pictures come out a little grainy in bw.

Overall, it's a nifty little cam and I bought it for the wide angled lens, but yes, at night, there's a lot of noise in the pics.

nice photo~~
u took the drink at bugis TCC? how did u create that effect huh? like yourself.. i also have such shots by accident a few times but can't figure out how to do it when i need it :p

How do you know it's Bugis TCC? So clever! Problem is I don't know how I got it. As I said.. it happens accidentally. :bsmilie::bsmilie:

kekekekeeke from the blurness i recognise that building behind... :p
well me too .. always got such effects by accident too kekekekeek

i think FX38 take great day shots, but pictures taken at night are rather noisy, looks grainy if you put it as a desktop picture. I guess they should look ok if you develop it into a 4R pic?? Not too sure, I'm a noob at this.

Taken using Night Scenary mode.
