Hi all,

I am a member of an organization which provides help for the poor and needy in singapore. Currently I am looking for a venue for our End of Year / Christmas party which we do annually for those family under our care.

I am looking for a restaurant which is good but affordable. Our budget would be around $20 per pax, and there will be around 80 pax in total.

It would be good if the location is slightly out of town, in an open space so the kids will have some place to play before the dinner. A restaurant with a setting like the Bottle Tree restaurant should be good.

I need help especially from all of the makan expert out there;). Can you give me some recommendation?

Thanks!

At junction of Liang Seah Street and Beach Rd there are a few steamboat+BBQ buffet places that are less than $20 per head ...... book the whole or half the place?

Telok Ayer Street and Boon Tat street area behind Cecil Street has a few good budget Hokkien restauraunts (Bee Heong I think )

as a friend, i advise against sakura - especially for kids and the elderly. nothing good comes cheap.:D

Can you tell us why Sakura is no good esp for kids and elderly?

I had a few sessions at Sakura Clementi Woods with a multinational multireligious (all adults from age 23 - 60+) gathering. All of us find it OK.

Fortune Rest @ Toa Payoh Central.. very nice food !
