John Cosgrove from PHOTOi is looking for 17 photographers for a golf shoot on 12th Dec...

The organisers are just looking for 1 picture of the golfers teeing off and will be paying $30 for just that 1 single shot. Afterwhich you can take the rest of the golf game at your leisure. Do note the photography ethics for golf which you should be briefed before the game.

Tee off time is 11am / 2pm (Details to be confirmed later)

Leave your names here if you are keen with the camera + lens you plan to use to get that shot.

$30 to buy a photo of a shot of teeing off?

though i know both you and John, i must say this is ridiculous. for all the money into the gear, should the shutter jam that same day, that's probably just enough money to cover taxi trip to the camera service centre, and not including even replacing the shutter.

maybe you might want to add to the context of the shoot, i'm sure there are many more who are thinking like me.

Probably you are the only one thinking like that..... not everything in life (especially the interest in photography) is all about $$$, we will be going there to take that shot, whether there is any reward or not .... in fact we should be thankful to be given that opportunity.

Normally a golf event would not needs so many photogs ... I guess the photographer will be following the detail he is assigned to through out the game ... 18 holes may take up to 4 hrs of play ...

In a group of 4 players, each player will pay $30 for that tee off shot ... so is $120 ... and maximum players per detail assuming group 1A and 1B .. so got 8 players will returns $240 ?? ...

Let say got 18 details (144 golfers) ... 240x18=4320 ...

I am just doing guessing game .. :bsmilie:

Anyway ... this time I am going to freeze the golf ball ...

at one of the golf courses here.

to be honest, i do not know.

Knight, that's some interesting mathematics, but look at the quote from Willy...

from how i understand it, organizers are just looking for ONE photo, not one photo for every single player... :p
