Going to Saigon (HCMC) during CNY

I was thinking of planning a trip to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) during CNY. Do u think it's a good idea? Will all the shops be closed like in SG and Malaysia? Just dun wanna make a trip all the way there to find myself in a "ghost" town.

Vietnam practices the same CNY with us. Likely shops there will be closed for the holiday.
Btw, nothing much to shop in HCM. Went there last mth.

evq is right. The shops will be closed.

You can still visit the Cao Dai temple and the Cu Chi tunnels, then head down to Mekong Delta. However, the floating markets will be closed till the 31st Jan.

Buses available to My Tho from HCM.

That explains why the airfare is kinda cheap (during that season).
