Going to Australia, does airline allow me to bring my 2 months baby?

I'm assigned to work in Melbourne and Sydney Australia for 2 months.
I'm also planning to bring my wife and my 2 months old baby.
Do you guys know whether the airline will allow me to bring baby for this long trip?

I know this question is totally out of photography interest, but hey, this is kopitiam thread right? I would appreciate your comments or advise.

usually they will allow, and you can even request a bassinet to put the baby ..

you better check!!!! ...they might require you to check it in instead of hand carry, cos the baby contains more than 100ml of liquid and I don't think they have such a large transparent bag for that...if not, just fedex it over.

Don't think it's a problem but your baby will not travel for free because he/she is not a "hand luggage". Most airlines charge ~10% of an adult fare.

On a more serious note, it will be mid-winter if you are going soon. Make sure you have enough warm clothing for the infant.

Called SQ and they allow me to bring my baby,

I'm worry as well.
I don't think the airline will allow me to bring milk powder and liquid.

As your child is only 2 mths old, I think you better check with your child's baby doctor first.
Let him know the expected weather there and how long you'll be there. You can perhaps get some common med. from him to bring along, ie for fever/cough/etc base on what your doc may recommand. Another good pre-prep to do is to find a good baby doc in Aust. near where you'll be staying just in case. You should also bring your child's health booklet along. Bear in mind that a 2mths old baby's immune systems is still rather weak.

I think you also need to consider if your wife can cope with a new baby on her own in Aust for 2 mths. Post natal blues can start to set in anytime once the mother starts to feel stress and can't cope. If that do happen, it will affect you and in turn, your work will suffer. Please do consider carefully. If you think you'll miss your baby, set up a webcam.
