Going Bintan!

I'll be going to Bintan for a short 1 nite ( ) trip in about a month's time.
As usual will be bringing my prosumer cam along. If lugguage is light enough I'll bring along my tripod (cheap and light one). Will be staying Bintan Lagoon Resort.

Not a photography trip. Going with my school. Hoping might be able to get some sunset/night/sunrise shots. ;p Hope there's enough time to shoot.

Otherwise will be carrying my cam around in my camera bag.
Any 'precautions' I should take? :think:

i found it quite safe in bintan... not sure what sort of "precautions" you are refering to...

1 watch out for sandflies, esp in the evening.
2 keep you cam away from the sand and water... :dunno:

Bintan is pretty much like Sentosa. Just enjoy your stay there.

where are you staying in Bintan? Its catered to Sporeans so even currency accepted there is SGD. And its manicured and nice. And if you most likely wont see much of the locals. cos from ferry point, resort bus pick u up and send u straight to resort.

nah, they fog the resort every week. But there are sandflys at the beach

u going wiht school, if got evening activities or dinner together... u can forget about sunset.

bintan slight more east than singapore plus they are 1 hour behind us, u do the calculations, if u can sacrifice sleep and wake up early and figure out a good spot to capture the sunrise... might be possible

but u also have to pray for good weather

Think my luggage will be light enough to bring tripod. Weight not a problem. Is the bulkiness.
