I watched the documentary about global dimming yesterday and got very disturb at the way we humans unknowingly harming our own earth, causing lot of problems and disasters all over the whole. One thing flash in my mind is
.is it worth it to struggle so hard for $$$ and in exchange for a lousy place to live on
that is earth? :dunno:

Good pun. Global dimming. Reminds us how dim humans are sometimes even though we invent this and that, there are still other problematic issues that nobody bothers to look at.
Nobody bothers becos tackling such problems means pumping in money and not getting any profits. Becos it does not help one stay in power. Becos it's of no relation to bank accounts, big houses, big cars and what not. Becos it's not hot enuff, yet! But when it's hot enuff to be considered uninhabitable, it's already too late.

global dimming is the amount of sunlight drop on earth. simple saying is sunrays are reflected back to space by those dirty air around us.

But USA...even with warning fact given by their own scientists with hard data they still refuse to join in with the rest of the world on a number of Global Warning initiatives like Kyoto Protocol. They like Australia has opt out to try to solve it on their own but so far very little has been done... Good example, look at how they performance with Hurrican Katrina. They idea was that the Kyoto Protocol is harmful to their economies and too costly to implement. How costly is losing the only place you can call home...Planet Earth. US government claims converting to cleaner energy sources will cost jobs.As usual, they are pleasing their polluting businessman who finance their elections. This is not about USA bashing...it is just the fact they are one of the biggest polluter on the world stage.
Whichever way you look at it...it is not use...our lives and our world is not in the hands that can make that change even if the good for doing so is staring them right in their face. Whoes faces? Every politician you see everyday in the news. You have to wonder sometime what happen to people power.

The world will end one day for sure but let that be by an asteroid where we really have to say is an act of god we have no control. But if we bring about our own extinction through greedy industrialists and stupid politicians...it will be one pitiful existence for it will last a long time before we are wiped out. Global warming is not a quick acting thingy ..it comes slowly but steadly. Global dimming is still abit of a theory that has split two camps of thoughts up. What I read in some papers and sites, dimming does not mean reflecting of the heat/radiation from the sun but it can also this layer can act as a containment with the sun heating it up with us inside it. Like cooking a beggar's chicken. heh.
