All FZ series camera use small sensor. Anything above ISO 100 you'll see noise.

But the noise taken in ISO 200 is not as obvious as those of ISP 400. Unless enlarged using PS.

The max iso level when i was using my Fz5 was iso 200...beyond that, there ain't any hope as the details and colors are lost... the picture looks like a water colour painting...

Tried with 800/1600 before also but :thumbsd:
Good enough for small pic viewing but not printing :think:

There is a noise reduction setting under the menu. I always set it to low. Then any touch up will be from PS

Some quotes from the manual:

"To avoid picture noise, we recommend decreasing the ISO sensitivity, setting [NOISE REDUCTION] in [PICT.ADJ.] to [HIGH] or setting every item except [NOISE REDUCTION] to [LOW] tot take pictures. (P83)"

NOISE REDUCTION

HIGH The noise reduction effect is enhanced. Picture resolution may deteriorate slightly.

LOW The noise reduction effect is reduced. You can obtain pictures with higher resolution.
