I will suggest waiting for the FZ50 equivalent..... they cater to different groups of consumers so cant really be compared due to the lack of manual focus ring and flash hotshoe...

hopefully panasonic solve their noise issue

I find my FZ50 very good for a camera its price... would recommend to anyone who wants to get it as it has tiltable LCD which I find extremely useful.

Too bad I'm upgrading to DSLR soon so gotta let go of my FZ50 to fund it :(

but a fz50 sized ultrazoom might be hard to build, and if they do might have many compromises. Look at the first few FZs that had constant f2.0 (2.8). since then it's become f2.8 to f3++
