Full Moon with FZ10, Digital vs Optical

This shots were taken with the FZ10 with Optical zoom 12x and Digital zoom 12x + 3x, and both cropped to ~ same size. Taken while resting camera on window frame, no tripod.

Any comments appreciated! My first try on moon shots!
 

I think this is a good example of why you should not use the digital zoom :D
 

May I know what is your setting? I tried many times, but always ended up in disasters. :(

For this shots, I think I used ISO 400 and shot it under Manual settings. I have tried ISO 50 before and it also ok. The one below is at ISO 50.

I think the good thing abt FZ10 in manual mode is that you can always tweak the Apeture and Shutter speed and immediately, you can see the effect of the moon picture in the LCD EVF. If it is overexposed, just up the Apeture number to F8, OR slow down the shutter speed. Resting on window frame or tripod is essential.
