Fuji F31 or 2nd hand 300D

This is my first cam. Basically I want some sort of point and shoot with some maunal setting. I know F31 and 300D is 2 different class of cam. For start up, what should I equip the 300D with, flash and lens. In term of price, the 300D is 500ish. Or should I go F31.

My scope will be still object shoots. Macro lens needed?

If you are going to use it for just point and shoot, you 'll be better off with a P&S camera like the F31. The 300D will take more dedication from you and much more $$$. While a 2nd hand 300D may cost around 500, but don't forget you'll still need to get lenses, flash and other accessories. In the end you'll find yourself spending more than double the price of a 2nd hand 300D.

for small objects, you need a macro lens for the 300d. but you can actually buy a p&s like the canon a70 and buy adapters + closeup filters for macro shooting also.
