As a budding photographer, I'm wondering if it would really help to have an education in photography (locally) if one intends to venture into the industry?

I have learnt that there are many risks and conditions to consider before becoming a professional photographer, and that in the photog. industry business ethics are also important.

The ultimate question being,

Is it worth it to invest 30++ grand, and 3-4 years on an education in photography?

you thinking of going to either lasalle or nafa?

La Salle actually... when it opens the degree for Art Photography next year.

NAFA only has a certificate in basic photography now right?

maybe you want to ask some of the local professionals here, see what they say. this might be better posted in the photo biz section.

also, i think it may have been asked before.

personally though, i think the choice is rather whether you want to do photography full-time or not. that is the harder choice.
