What's wrong? Even if the comittee don't give it out doesn't mean the athletes won't do it. And if they are doing it might as well make sure they're protected.

There's nothing wrong with the athletes doing it.. And if their country's PR or something give it to them, that's fair..

For SAF, it's the SAF giving the soldiers protection in OTHER countries.. that's fair too..

But, as a host, you're giving it out to your visitors?

What message are you trying to give to your visitors? SG woman is easy? or such services is very popular in THIS country?

If the visitors kena STD or whatever.. its their problem. Their country's PR should prepare for them, just like SAF prepare for our soldiers.

Just felt that giving such "present" to visitors is in bad taste and not good for SG image.

You might be reading too much in to it. It doesn't imply that Singaporeans are easy, heck they are more likely to do it with each other than with Singaporeans since they stay in the games village. This sort of thing is very common in other countries, when I was in uni year 1 I found 2 condoms included in my orientation pack.

I thought it was pretty much the norm for international events these days (e.g. Beijing and Athens Olympics). And the newspapers say (officially) that these are to be distributed to the officials only, not the under-aged athletes. :dunno:
