Think picasa is misrepresenting the colours of my pictures. Here's one from phanfare

Glad you noticed. The reds are getting blown.

Sorry for the double post but for the benefit of picasa users do take note of the shifts

This pic is from my phanfare album (closer to original)

This is from picasa (seems like that's a sharpening pass and too much contrast added)

The latter end up looking more like a 3D render than a photographed image, but then again, subject to the way you want the image to look, both are alright too... but note that in the latter image, the black area are "too black", something that I have mentioned in my earlier meetings and sharing session that in the real world, other than the blackhole, there is no absolute blackness. There is always some details in the shadows.

I love this! If it wasn't for the noise in the shadows, I would have thought the cat was an illustration! Beautiful post work! I love it!

I'm amazed... is this really taken using the kit lens?

These pictures are all shot with the 40-150mm kit lens @ Bedok Reservoir

Thanks mojims...........even I myself was also utterly amazed when I first saw the pictures in the camera..........never have I knew that I could achieve this kind of photos with this lens.........and then I realized that I have NOT truly understand the potential of this kit lens..........There are hidden gems in every lenses (even in kit lens) sometimes one need to discover how to unlock it.......;)

Cheers!

Ok, here's some shots I got with the 40-150:

Actually, I like the output it produces, but it's a bit hard to tame on a non-IS body like my E-410.
