That's almost as defeating to Mac Pro owners as when the first MacBook Pro machines arrived and they were faster than the PowerMac G5 machines.

Looks as though it's worth it to buy the i7-based machines.

definitely an eye-opener, but i have a 24-inch 2.8ghz imac here alr, and my old MBP from last year,

the new imac would be a luxury that is not needed.

however the core i5 is rly tempting

i need a atrong conviction to offload my 21 inch imac. And like what some mention,if i buy this my new 15inch mbp will be ignore for awhile....so tempting. Can TS share your experience.....i don't dare to step into the shop for fear of poisoning....
