saw some ad in a newpaper recently abt him coming for the opening of Nike store in Vivocity ?...can anyone confirm ?...1 Dec IIRC

Yes, He is.

He will be opening the Nike Store at Vivocity on the 1st Dec.

Then he will give a talk and demo on Long jump and sprinting techniques on 2nd Dec. Venue is ITE College (Simei), from 0900-1130hrs. Free Admission to all.

WOW. It would be a great chance to see him up close. For a long time, I had kept that famous photograph of Ben Johnson beating Carl Lewis in Seoul Olympics. Ben clocked 9.79s and Carl Lewis 9.83s, if I am not wrong.
