I've been slowly working on food shots, basically been trying to get more pornographic with food.
so far two images I like, to share

??

Maybe if you try each dish/food each time and closer (much closer, like macro..)

Texture would be excellent, but I doubt junk food looks better then peppers (Weston-like)

Prove me wrong.

the junk food shot is actually abit blurred but I like it even more because of that.....strange.
but hey! junk food's quite beautiful in it's own way
still developing the style, but trying to rape my food with my camera.

i don't like the pictures (yet) but i like the 'idea' :bsmilie:

the 'story' hasn't begun in earnest.. stay tuned?

would be interesting to see how far the photographic 'raping' of food can go :D

yeah still wayyy too tame.
trying to push it harder. make the food almost disgusting.heh heh
disgustingly beautiful
ok stay tuned....

The tofu looks delicious... not the mac! Look at the Mcflurry(is that correct?).. I wanna puke ;p

well...imagine the various articles of food in a picture are people.now imagine a mass orgy.
that is food porn. grin.
rather than being about looking beautiful, I wonder if I can make food look like I'm tearing it apart and ready to enter my body
btw jas yeah the mcflurry was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING like candy concrete!!! but it deserves a picture of it's own....

OT: I thought Nigella Lawson is the celebrity chef known for food porn?

Suggestion: ;)
maybe can try shooting someone actually masticating food,
with steamy, gravy/thick stock/stew drooling down lips,
and a tight/imaginative shot of teeth/mouth sinking into something sinful,
some tongue would be nice, ;p
add effects/zoom-burst/shadows..

(blimey!, now i'm hungry... *slurp!*)

i think viewing food as a sexual theme (tongue..dripping sauce..) is abit cliche? likewise, seeing it as 'dead, processed meat'.

but i really love the idea of challenging something as fundamental as food.

when we think of 'food' photography, what do we think of? something warm, delicious..appetizing?
really interested to see how far this can go :bsmilie:

great ideas...I may be working with a chef soon so I can play around with some fun ideas.will try to work the food without using human body parts in it...heh.
I think food is appetizing but at the same time I don't like to treat my food with too much respect, I don't think food should be too pretty.heh heh

Hey Mattlock, not sure if you have heard of 'The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover' a movie by Peter Greenaway from the 90s. Could be an interesting link for your directions. If u r into Stanley Kubrick, this movie is highly recommended.

lol OT abit.. when u said stanley kubrick, of course, i thought of "A Clockwork ORANGE"
