HI,

I got a question to ask. How far can a cam focus before it sets itself to focus at infinity? i rem when I was using the manual focus in c2100uz, the scale ends at 5m then it go straight to infinity. If that is the case, focusing a bird in the sky is like setting it to infinity isit? Sorry if this sounds silly. :embrass:

Basically yes. The rest will be covered by the inherently high DoF of consumer digicams. Especially at the wide angle end. I frequently use such distance focussing on my Coolpix 950 when I want to avoid AF lag.

So am I correct to say that if I want to shot a bird flying in the sky, I can use manual focus and set to infinity instead of trying to focus it using AF? How different is it compared to slr/dslr?
