focusing correctly on night shots

lets say i want to take night shots of singapore's city area, eg landscape view. but the pictures come out if zoom in the edges are blurry? any aperture/shutter settings i shd use for night shots?

Use a high F stop (small aperture) with a slow shutter speed ... of cos with a tripod too....

Use small but not the smallest. The extreme of the lens normally dun produce as well as the mid range.
 

you are shooting wide open apperture most probably. this will create softness at the corners and this occurence is not just at night. it happens all the time. so stop down a little.(this varies from lens to lens) and the softness will lessen.
