After seeking the CSers view, i decided to get myself a FZ7. However while I notice that when i zoom into an object, i cannot focus as the camera requires a further focusing details than when it is a wide angle. It wasn't this case for my previous Nikon 4500, which i was even able to zoom and focus even at macro mode. Can anyone let me know what is causing the difference?
Focus Distance increase after zoom?

Most lenses have a stated minimun focusing distance. THis distance may or may not be the same at all focal lengths. Generally the macro focus mode only works at the wide end and the tele end requires a much further distance.
