hmm......

Given 2 DC.
DC A ( 35mm wide )
DC B ( 40mm wide )

Is there a difference in the photo when both DC are at the same spot without zoom? I suppose DC B will produce a little little more zoom out photo?

Given 1 DC and 1 Lens. Example only.
DC A ( 35mm - 350mm )
Lens B ( 70mm - 400mm )

Although DC A has a 10X optical zoom compared with Lens B's 5X+ zoom ( taking 400 / 70 ), I suppose the latter provide more zoom as it's tele range is bigger?

Yup.

That's why the "so many times zoom" thing is misleading. Using "Focal Length in mm" is more accurate.
