Focal Length In Exif Reader

Sorry, this has been asked b4 but cant find it...
Is the focal length shown on the exif reader the true focal length of the lenses or the 35mm equivalent focal length after considering the crop factor?

For Nikon cameras, the 35mm equilivent would be reflected

For my opanda EXIF viewer, it shows both actual and 35mm format equivalent focal length for my Nikon 5700 pictures.

Under properties in Windows XP, it only show the actual focal length.

So I guess it depends on what EXIF reader you use. I think it should show at least the actual focal length.

Yeah, the opanda exif shows both lens focal length & 35mm equivalent for pics taken by my prosumer Nikon 8400 but I'm looking at pics taken by canon DSLR, only focal length is shown...

So based on Ipin & Raptor's info, the focal length stated for both Nikon & Canon DSLRs is the 35mm equivalent?

Reason why I'm so particular cos I'm trying to decide wat lens to get :)

Ipin, I'm using the Opanda IEXIF 2 but it shows only the actual focul length for my D80, not the 35mm equivalent. which cam & Opanda version u using?

XP shows the actual focal length for nikon D50, olympus, casio and minolta compact. so far did not come across any with 35mm equivalents calculated for you.

That is not the full data. Use Exif readers like the Opanda IExif to read Exif data that are not normally displayed, e.g. shutter counts.
