Hi folks,

am heading down to Tanjong Pagar later, but will be very early for appointment, does anybody knows if there's any FREE wireless access in that area? Hee.

TIA! ;)

Eh... nobody? Or somebody has an account at starhub/singnet unlimited can loan me for this evening? I can try to surf at Burger King @ IP. :bsmilie: just need to pass time for an hour or so. :bsmilie:

I thought just look for the nearest McDonald's?

But now even Macs cannot be trusted. There were a few occasions where their wireless access is down. Take for example, today at Macs Shaw Plaza. Many other customers complain also no use.

Thanks in advance for sharing :)

Depends on which Mac you go to ba..their wireless is also 802.11b only...v slow..

802.11b so what? You should be care abt what's their link to the Net instead... duh

Problem is the latest 4.2 airport update broke the link for Mac's wireless access so I can't surf @ Macs till it's resolved.

Anyway I sat some place did some photo editing till my appt started... so oh well, so much for free WI-FI... can't wait till SG becomes totally WI-FI. One account serves it all, every where, anytime.

I meant to say, since it's 802.11b, it may be slow no matter how fast your server is (due to short wireless radio range).
In my school. I can be surfing in the canteen at super fast speeds, but in class, the surfing speed is very slow due to increased distance from access point

802.11b is 11mbps...way faster than even our maxonline 6500.

Thanks for stating this for our friend here... BTW 802.11G is worst in term of distance.

If macdonalds WIFI not broken by the 4.2 Airport Update, I would have an easier life.. Hee.

Hmm.. the Ctrl-Click doesn't work on 10.4.2 (includes the 4.2 airport update).

Have yet to test the system name change, will try that when I pass by a Mac again ;) Thanks!
