wonderful shot. it must have been a grab shot.

do spill all the details. its always interesting to find out the circumstances of how the shot is done.

very apt titling.

cheers skipper

jfoo: not sure what is a grab shot. the terminology in cs is very chim these days. :bsmilie:
this is how it is done:

1) observe pigeons fly path
2) position for frame
3) wait
4) fire away when birds return for food (5 shots in all)

post processing:
1) new layer
2) soft light
3) burn and dodge
4) desaturate at least 40%

hope this helps.

no lah. terminology where got chim.

grab shot= meaning you walk around in nonchalant manner (something like mr bean :) )and see brids flying towards you and you raise your camera and rapid fire away.

can also mean

grab shot= you walk and see birds start flying towards you (then everything go into slomo mode-like in the movies), your hand grab the camera and in one motion sweep it up to eye level, your left hand on the zoom ring, and your right finger activating the shutter button while your legs get into a stable stance for shooting and than when the birds are in the right formation, you let 'rip' the five exposures. :sweatsm:

anyway, great stuff. looks like you knew they were coming.
