in this frame, the focus can be shifted to the flower on the forefront. as of this picture, the frontmost flower is a distracting out of focus mass of yellow taking up a prominent position. i find the exposure distractingly over as well.

Auntie.. i think wat eikin said is pretty relevant, of putting the foreground in focus.

However, I think maybe you can try a different perspective?
I'm not sure how the situation was exactly, here's my 2cents.
Since the flower is generally of the same shape(star shape), how would putting a foreground flower with centre at a corner, show some petals, defocus the foreground, focus thru the petals on another flower. better still if they reveal another flower thru the petals.
