Flower taken at Marina City Park

Photo #1 - I would prefer the background to be softer.
Photo #2 - Flower is lost in the sea of leaves. Maybe reposition so the flower is centre and making is obvious amgonst the greens?

I will try harder next time....

Seems that the filters almost always causing an effect on the sharpness of the photos taken, be it star-8 or Polarizer or ND4...strange enough... :dunno:

The colors a abit dull. What did u use for the white balance? Did u use F2.8 to take the shot for the first photo with spot focus and spot metering?

Could it be due to the weather? When I was there, it was about to rain, so it was relatively cloudy.

I am using F2.8, but not using spot focus and spot metering.

Do I need to do so in order to achieve better color? :dunno:

using spot focus and spot metering to highlight the flower and the color would be more vibrant. ALso force to use Cloudy white balance setting if it's about to rain or cloudy. This allows u to achieve warm colors rather than dull.
