u have the whites just right. i remembered when i was a kid 20yrs back my family used to grow them but now really rare sight. U have the sharpness here, but it I think the pix would benefit from a little more DOF (for the OOF stima) by using a smaller F stop. Composition is not bad as it is but I really am not sure of that green leaf.

I think the first link http://www.pbase.com/autofocus/image/53588236

is compositionally better since there is a comparison between the fully bloom and the budding. It adds another theme to the photo. The jack-black BG accentuates the purity of your subject and makes it really stand out. For the green leaf, I may suggest u flip it over to face u or remove it entirely (but don't clip it off the plant :sweatsm:)

N, perhaps u would like to consider not to splash ur name all over?

Potential ;)

my 2 cents.

Very nice n sharp with all the details in it, showing just how beautiful this white flower really is! The dark background, the browns, green leaves n everything else just makes the white look so much purer.

The words are also just right sized, but would prefer it to be like a description of the flower or something more meaningful about the flower  But I really like the words lor

Just my 2 cents worth hehe

edit: posted the non-signature version, didnt think the watermark would be annoying but......anyway

thanks guys... wish the leaf could have been in a better position, but the flower only blooms for 2-3 nights every 2 months and then drops off...
from pic http://www.pbase.com/autofocus/image/53588254 should be easier to see where the flower grows from...

and btw, lighting used was a sb800 flash with bounce card. Is there any other alternative ways for lighting?
