hi guys. i'm changing to a new flash unit. I realise din realli use my flash unit to its maximum. I always use ITTL. like to know if any1 can explain d concept behind manual usage of flash. how to do slow flash sync, rear curtain syn. is fill in flash auto? coz realise when i shoot portrait, sometime it flash, sometime it din. thanks alot

RTFM? :dunno:

Slow sync flash is flash with a slow shutter speed to expose for the ambient light. (normally used with rear curtain sync)

Rear curtain sync : the flash fires at the end of the exposure instead of the start.

the other modes gives you more room to play around with in flash photography. like with rear sync flash, you can take a pic of a person moving with a light trail behind him.

maunal flash must use the age-old equation :

aperture(numerical value) x distance = guide number

guide numebr is a number assigned to the flash as a measure of its maximum power output
