Which to buy?
LED can use for video n also light up subject for photo. Relatively cheaper than flash units.
Flash can only use photography n relative more expensive.
Any comments from the experts here?

imho, LED lights is practically useless if you are thinking that it can replace flash units. That is unless you are referring to those studio strobes that easily costs more than a standard flash unit.

Even if the light is strong, it's not strong enough to light up the whole room for instance.

If you are on tight budget and still want to get a flash, you can consider those full manual flash like Yongnuo 560. About $80-$100

Whatever floats your boat. For what u shoot if u think is appropriate then buy. But in the first place have u tested the LED unit? You will know the difference.

Show us specifically which 'LED' unit you are referring to, and which 'Flash' unit you are comparing it with. Then we have a better idea of what is 'cheaper' and what is 'expensive' to you. Like you said, everything is indeed relative. Very wide spectrum of products...

depends on your usage.

there are many highend LED light cost so much more then your average hotshoe flash, but that is in professional range.
I guess you are referring to those tiny LED light cheaper than hotshop flash, mounted on the camera hotshoe.

if you shoot many tiny inanimate subjects in close up, these LED light can be quite useful.

other than these, it is pretty useless, as it is not powerful enough if your subject is 5m away, and you can't add much light modifiers.
