Flash light in terms of Lumen?

Some Surefire torch has max output of 200 Lumen.

I am stupid and flash my Canon external flash directly on my eye in bright sunlight. I am amazed I was instantly blinded by the flash for a minute. Just wondering will the flash have this 200 lumen?

PS, never read it properly. Btw, I realised it is much more than a normal tactical torch. No wonder I remained "blind" for quite a while.

Of course. Lumens are measured over time, so a torch is designed for constant output. A flash, as the name implies, is designed for maximum output over a fraction of a second.
