it may be a pre-flash to meter or you might have activated the red eye reduction mode.

If you using pop up flash and taking many photos. but must let cool down pop up flash.

If you taking many photos and using pop up flash, you should get Tumax 386 flash. Then you will happy with flash and camera.

If you using pop up flash and taking many photos. but must let cool down pop up flash.

Then the flash would not even blink. No point blinking and creating more heat if the flash is already hot.
