With an opening statement like that, how can anyone bear to fault you .................

Pic#9-13 were taken on the 2nd day(26/5) after learning the following on the first day (25/5) :
1) my fastest shutter speed possible (1/2000) at that focal length was still not fast enough to freeze a spiked ball (movement + strong spin).
2) there was extremely long focus lag when I used continuous focus. Coupled with long shutter lag, the camera only snapped a shot after the ball had been spiked even though I pressed the shutter button just before the player jumped to hit the ball.
3) 3 fps wasn't fast enough and needed a bit of luck to get a picture which shows the player's hand touching the ball. No wonder people want to get the D2X and 1D Mk 2/3 for sports shooting.
4) When I shot from the first row, the angle was too low and the ball merged with the background (seats and spectators) when it was up above the net.
So on the 2nd day, I sat higher up seat, tried to keep a shutter speed as near to 1/2000 and at least faster than 1/1000, used single focus, pressed the shutter button much earlier before player tried to spike the ball and then prayed. :lovegrin:
To be frank, I still prefer my easy to carry around and maintain prosumer camera. A DSLR system is just too cumblesome to carry around and maintain, not to mention a lot more costly too.
