#1

if you were intending to capture just the strawberry, you're spot on
however, your DOF is a bit shallow for the entire cake.
try again with a smaller aperture?

personally i feel the background is too bright...i cannot concentrade on the cakes

same here. and perhaps wb is too yellowish/reddish.

Are you using tungsten light as the main light source for all your pics?

Yup i also agree that the WB is very yellowish .. especially 3rd pic.. kinda Overexpose and Yellowish ..

However, IMO your 1st pic composition is the strongest compare the rest :D

A good first try... I wish my first attempt was as good. My personal view is that you may want to focus on one interesting part of the food you want to draw attention to. This would make your picture more exciting.

Looking at the pictures in food magazines like wine and dine would help improve your pictures.

very nice! makes the food look really delicious!

the background is a tiny bit too glaring tho... just my opinion.

Hi all, thanks for all the tips and comments given, will improve on next try. cheers :)

yeah, a lil too glaring for the eyes which diverts attention a lil. but not too bad.

anyway, what kit were u using? n settings?
