All photos are taken using EOS 1000D kit lens and i did some trimming of the pics.

look at the front of the lens, usually it will be written there.
 

I would say interesting shots, however in terms of composition there might be more room for improvements. And watch the cropping away of legs, hands, head etc...

Thanks for the advice, so does it mean it's best to have the legs, hands, head shown instead of cropping away part of it?

General guidelines, try not to crop at joints (wrists, elbows, knees). For head, not always necessary to show the whole head, many of those cropped at forehead + half chin still works.

Not a hard and fast rule, just a rule of thumb (no pun intended).
 

nope... not really. but we try best not to crop at joints of the subjects or things like a slight cropping of the fingers becos it looks like the shot was more like a "oops" job.

the background in most pics are rather distracting as it draws attention away. :)

try 135mm.less distortions plus further,so your 1000D wont traumatise the kids..haha..
Pictures are good though..keep it up
