Try not to frame subjects smack in the middle. For this case, it is right in the middle vertically. And yeah, you need a tripod :)

sorry, but i don't get what you mean by "try not to frame subjects smack in the middle"?
 

The 1/3, 2/3 rule... Actually, you can try to put the reflection of the water nearer to the bottom edge of the photo. That way, you'lll most probably make the 1/3, 2/3 rule.

oh, so you mean vertically?

haha i kinda get it now, but i need a tripod for that and i have no idea which to get >.>

(this picture was taken by resting my camera on a ledge)
 

this pic can become quite a nice panoramic by cropping away most part of the bottom, need to straighten your horizon also.

think any cheap tripod will do.
