Fireworks on New Year Eve

Some newbie shots to share...

I think many people didn't expect this year's fireworks at Esplanade to be fired so high up into the air and therefore they were mostly either too close to capture the full height of the fireworks or have a nice background. That's why there aren't many fireworks photos posted this round. The ones which have been posted mostly have the fireworks chopped out at the top or without a proper nice background/foreground at the bottom. Basically the compositions of the pictures are mostly poor this round although there are a few exceptions.

I see that you've managed to capture nicely the full height and you seemed to be quite far away. Where did you take them from? Any wide angled lens used?

From the angle of shots, it seemed that yklim took the shots from the Esplanade area (near the stage area).
