Should with Fine mode = Fine Photography... Shoot with normal = photography...

1. There is high class photography and low-class photography. Fine art photography aims to be high class.

2. Photography can be art, but it can also just be a medium for recording events.

no, it is not a new term..

photography is just a general term,

it can be divided into many type,

like journalist, commercial, advertising, industrial, scientific, medical, forensic, fine art etc.......

Photography by PnS ... low class?
Photography by Prosumer cam .... middle class?
Photography by 1D / 1Ds cam ..... high class? :bsmilie::sweatsm:

Fine Art Photography = a sub-branch of arty farty photography, hence ART PHOTOGRAPHY, which runs a risk of being FINED by the relevant authorities is displaying publicly, so forth the term FINE Art Photography ;)

how about medium format and large format??? Premium Class and Gold Class???

More like photography style which is not bound by rules,
example, shooting really underexposed or highly overexposed
shots, shooting a blank wall with a faint crease line, or
just a rock against a white background.

I wouldnt say its high class. More like anything goes.
Open Photography perhaps? :bsmilie:

In other words, if people critise your shots, just tell them its fine art.

well this is a good definition.. fine art photography

Not to say you are wrong, but it's a good find. Heh
haha the wiki entry speak highly of the photography form. Anyway it's up to the individual to perceive, as it states as well in the entry :

"prints of pictures that are created to fulfill the creative vision of an individual professional"

How creative would be creative? to be agreed by masses as creative? or self proclaimed creativity?

It must be by someone famous or professional, so as to be labelled high-quality? What if its just a no-namer who attempts it?

the reasonings simply do not compute for me, does it for else? :bsmilie:
I probably believe b&w photography has become more of a "fine art photography" than the "self-styled high class" style.

Oh now i know Thanks guys!

In my graphic repro trade, it's capturing "Fine Art of works" for reprodutions. There are no scanner huge enough to digitise huge paintings or paintings on walls and ceilings. It used to be shot in trans, now digital. These are specialists with perfect lightings and care. Imagine shooting Fine Art from DaVinci, Monet, etc. Big money in copyrights too.
