Have you tried google for the workflow, I have not use it so I'll not comment, but I do know that the conversion is the next best thing, that is if you have to use FCP.
Im using Imovie to import the Canon FS200 file. First time doing it. Not so sure how long will it take to convert to .mov. Worst case scenario, I will just edit it with my imovie instead of final cut.
I have a JVC Everio HD300 HD camcorder,i am annoyed with the MTS and MOD files, for they counldn't be edit on Adobe Premiere but now i found out a fastest and easiest way to solve it-just use a professional HD Video converter which can convert MTS/TOD/MOD to wmv, mov, mp4, avi, etc. without any problem. The software seems to do a decent job. I've had good results converting the .mts/.mod files to .mov, with the settings h.264, 12000kbps, 1280*720, 25fps, aac. The files look good on my Mac running Adobe Premiere, edit easily, and convert well to DVD format.
You mean you need to convert your file from your canon videocam to MOV file before you can edit in Final Cut Pro? I thought the file from Canon is already MOV when you import them into the mac?
Just curious MOV file are editable without converting in the new Final Cut HD?
