hi, still very new to filters, other den protecting and preventing the lens from reflection, what other uses of filters are there?? i just bought a POP green one for $5 but i still dont know when to use it and stuff. any advice or interesting facts on filters?

Depends on the type, there are CP-L, red, yellow, UV, NC, etc... plenty of info to look from the net... Google or do a search here...

just buy and experiment. it is about having fun. what you don't need now, don't mean that you would not need later.
