Has anyone compare the result between multicoated and non-coated lens? Is the mc filter worth its money. If the result is different, what does it affect most? Portrait, telephoto, macro? Thank you.

MC reflects less light than those non coated ones. It's always good to have more light able to reach your sensor. However, the difference is minor. very minor. very very minor. 98% chance you won't ever notice any difference.
2% of the time you may notice reduced flaring due to the coating, maybe..

As was told to me by my seniors, MC is for 2 reasons
1. Durability and
2. Better contrast / colors

I've seen some cheap filters wear out after a few cleanings but my cheap single coat Kenko has lasted several years w/o losing any of the color.

While I've not the chance to compare side by side 2 filters of different coating, I've seen enough photos with and without the single coat on. The difference in contrast and blooming is noticeable.

MC isn't too expensive, a decent filter goes for around $30 to $40.

Go for B+W filter. Its MRC (Multi Resistant Coating) really make a different. Especially when you cleaning the filter.

Regards,
Arto.

Sorry, can someone enlighten me on what a B+W filter is? Is it a brand or type?
