What's the cost to:-

process negative film without printing but scan into CD?

Eg. I shot a few rolls of fuji xtra 800, don't want print but want it scan into digital format (CD).

The lab would usually charge a higher negative processing fee (eg instead of $3.50 they charge you $5), and scanning is anything from $5.90 onwards AFAIK depending on which lab you go to.

I beg to differ; perhaps it helps if one patronises a particular lab often. I used to develp my negatives @ Peninsular at $3.50...I can still recall that I got that price since I began with them.

any recommendation?

That is true, I get discounts from the lab which I patronise regularly too.

The places I have patronised include various Fuji epic outlets, Colorlab at Adelphi, Fotohub, Soo Kee. Soo Kee is still having the $5.90 promotion and AFAIK, this is one of the lowest scanning rate available.

I don't really have any preference, but had several experience where scanning machines break down at neighbourhood type of shops - which delays the delivery of the scans.

I tried the $5.90 scanning from Soo Kee.
Note that it is not high res scanning.
files are 700KB in size, hence not very sharp soft copies
not very happy about it..

I checked with Fotohub at Bukit Timah on prices if scan high
res...I think 3000dpi for positives (18Mb per picture)
Processing cost is $6 and high res scanning @ $29.90

Will try shooting positives and develop n scan @ FotoHub.

The Soo Kee I go to is at Lucky Plaza basement 1.
Access from Orchard Road street level, facing Wisma/Ngee Ann City. A few shops down from the Condom shop ;)
Look for big Fuji sign
The negative prints I got from them are quite good..

Ok..thanks.
But this 4 base scanning resolution is not good...

I want to try this..will shoot 1 roll of slides and try their services !
