Not only Nikon has film cameras. :)

In fact, there are lots of cameras using film. Which are you exactly looking at? SLR? Or normal P&S? Or Rangefinder? :)

I don't think you want to start with a full-fledged rangefinder if you haven't shot film before..

That's why he's asking for a P&S. :bsmilie:

You can try various cameras... Maybe a Olympus XA2, or a rangefinder like Yashica GSN, or Olympus XA.

Or you can try the lomo cameras. You might wanna do your own research, google. :)

You can get the films from chiif. :)

Rangefinders are different from SLRs, you should avoid rangefinders if you're new.

Get a decent film based SLR ;), could find some at camera repair shops like Camera Hospital and P&Gs.

You can also get those film compact cameras.

You should try the B&S section here. Haha. 2nd hand shops usually mark up the prices.

Which camera are you particularly looking at? :)

either the Nikon FG or the Olympus XA2
You should definitely try the B&S section then...

The Nikon FG will probably open up more possibilities, since it's an SLR. Although it will be more expensive because you need to get both body and lens.

The Olympus XA2 on the other hand, is a no-frills compact camera. It's very simple to use and pocketable. But you'll be stuck with a fixed lens. One thing good though is you will need to think more about composition, since you are stuck at the same focal length.

Hope this helps.

since you already using Canon, why not a Canon SLR? something like a EOS 30, you can mount your 50 1.8, instead of getting another lens if you intend to get the Nikon FG.. just note you can't mount the 55-250 and the 17-50 would give heavy vignetting..

I've a dslr, thinking of playing with film slr.

Is it difficult to play with? With the dslr, i can always adjust the settings "after" i took my first shot. It's kinda impossible with slr, unless i have rolls n rolls of films to waste. Whereelse sells film slr?

Any tips of film slr users?

yup that makes sense.

Just that everything's all made so easy to use with advancing technology these days. Wondering if film slr would be difficult to master.
