Few questions on image Stabilizer.

I have a noobish question, IS (Image stabilizer) is more useful for short range lens (17 - 50mm) of telezon lens (70 - 200 mm)?

IS is more useful for telephoto lens and for people with shaky hands.

IS only help to reduce shaking at camera and lens. If the image blur because subject's movement, IS can't help. Flash will help.

IIRC, IS also not very useful for macro distance.

you'll see the effects better on longer lenses.. for shorter lenses.. proper hand holding techniques are usually sufficient.. else you'll need a tripod.
