Nice shots in general, I just thought you can bump up a bit on the colours and saturation. Nice perspective on the fishing rod, the shot of the dog will have a bigger impact if taken lower ie. at the dog's eye-level. I think you can sharpen the pics a little more.

Just my 2 cents :)

Thanks hitman. All the pics are straight from the camera. i did only resize for posting in web. Good technique provided for the dog pic. Next time, I will use this technique.

The original dog pic is better, in terms of sharpness wise. I think the latter is too sharp.

haha.. i agree... but the degree of sharpening is also a personal taste... some people like loads of it... i'm tending to the minimal sharpening side

Yupz, looks oversharpened to me too. Just look at the tongue n slightly above the nose area.

Nice pictures. Care to share which lens and settings? Tripod?

sorry, EXIF info does not include lens type?

Yes I agree. I did the unsharp mask twice. will modify and post it again, once i have reached home.
Well, actually unsharp mask (USM) can be done more than once. Here's some settings I scooped from dpreview, tried out a few times and worked pretty well. It's a 3 stage USM settings, try to see if you like them.

1st - Amount 75% - 0.5 Pixels - Threshold 0

2nd - Amount 50% - 0.3 Pixels - Threshold 0

3rd - Amount 100% - 0.2 Pixels - Threshold 0

Have fun with digital imaging ;)

Thanks a lot hitman for sharing this. Let me try this and post the image. Still I am in office, will go home around 10PM (SGP time).

For #2, you may want to have 2/3 sky and 1/3 sea. Will look more balanced.

#4 is well composed and the colors are soothing.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks hacker for the very valuable tips. In my next visit, I will use this technique
