Anyone has feedback on the lens above?
I m seriously considering getting one.
Any update on its colour, sharpness, quality, any technical glitch?
I tend to take people, nature (flora and fanua), events.

I like it bc:
it is small and short for 300mm.
my purpose of getting it: Short Lens.

So that i will bring it whenever i go. as i have a feeling that if i own a long lens, i tend not to bring it whereever i go, exp travelling with it. i know there's no one size fits all thing, but im trying to get close to it, rather than to buy a lens that use it a lot the first 3 months then place in cabinet for the rest of the year.

wat say you folks? pls pls pls, give me some pointers.
thank you in advance!

This lens is generally good for traveling purpose due to its weight and size.

However, this lens performs poorly at 300mm. Thus if you are not using the 300mm focal length for most of the time, then it ok.

Lastly, do take note of the price, it's around $2,000.

For more reviews about this lens, you can refer to this site for more info.

I also thinking abt getting one as I do lots of travel photography. Carrying a 70-200 F2.8L is just too difficult.

Any canonographers have one? Let me try try? esp at 300mm.

Looking for 2nd hand one.

This lens caught my eye as well due to its wide range, compact size for a tele lens and it comes with IS! But after going thru some reviews, apparently it has its fair share of problems and the main being very soft wide open esp at 300mm.

Another review for your info.

Ultimately, its your choice and do share some pics if you decide to buy ;)

thanks for the reply and link.
looks like there really aren't a lot of people that own this lens.
think price and 300mm quality is the main issue.

however, am seriously thinking of getting one.
will post some picture to share if i buy.
cheers!

Yo Dude!

Stick with a 70-300 IS USM. (abt $1200) I tried and the lens seem to be better.

PM me if you want to try first, I can bring you to a place to try both.
