Can I ask how come lens company don't make a faster and longer zoom lens?
Like said maybe 18-135 f2 type of lens?
Is it the cost or weight or anything?

The cost is one thing and the lens is going to be so big and heavy it would have to come with its own trolley:bsmilie:

Can't help but think if this lens goes f1.x or f2.x....May need a tank to move it.

Another possibility is that should zoom and fast lenses be affordable , then it will snatch away market from fast primes. E.g. if we have 18 - 135 F2 even if it is small, then people might not want to get primes such as 135F2. Based on my own opinions, ever since the 70 - 200 f2.8 lenses are out and improving, there are lesser and lesser of (canon's) 200mm f2.8 prime being sold. Sometimes in BnS , people are selling at such a low price of $700+ yet there are no takers.

So it's like if you want to have best of both worlds in terms of very fast lenses and versatility of zoom, buy zoom and prime so that company can earn more.

You should look at alternative brand, not too far.

F2.0
http://www.four-thirds.org/en/fourthirds/telephoto.html#i_035-100mm_f020_olympus
http://www.four-thirds.org/en/fourthirds/standard.html#i_014-035mm_f020_olympus

Big tuna? (F2.8)
http://www.four-thirds.org/en/fourthirds/telephoto.html#i_090-250mm_f028_olympus

there are 2 other nice lenses but fixed focal length
Little tuna (F2.0)
http://www.four-thirds.org/en/fourthirds/single.html#i_150mm_f020_olympus
Bigger tuna? (F2.8)
http://www.four-thirds.org/en/fourthirds/single.html#i_300mm_f028_olympus

Do note that with 4/3rd lenses, for the same F number of other brand, you have about 2x the DOF (less bokeh).
