Looks like the photos are underexposed except for the shiluoette. Did you over PSed them? The contrast is also too strong.
Mr Kool...you've got shots that could work but your shots are over-contrasted and slightly underexposed.
maybe:
pict #2 should be good if you could zoom in into the fire, like a macro shot...but be careful, do not use digital zoom...only optical zoom. digital zoom equals bad image quality.
pict #3: give more space for the sky.
pict #4: try to get more angle on the campfire...i think, a shot fr the top might work, plus a phony model to add to the drama.
