Delighted with above equipment, acquired not long ago. BUT, I am looking for tips on focussing for sharper results.

I have noticed one or two anomalies in focussing techniques, since I can no longer rely on my own eyes for precise focussing. I have set the diopter to the optimum setting for my eyes, and I use focus assist (focus zoom and pixel highlighting)—I usually manually focus. However, when setting focus according to the focus assist, I note that the focus distance indicated on the display focus distance bar bears no relation to the actual distance. For example, distant objects (many hundreds of metres away) that I would normally wind out to infinity to focus, give indicated distances of just tens of metres.

Moreover, I am somewhat disappointed with the sharpness of some of my results.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

I think you can use the zoom in function to help u manual focus.

Use the live view for focusing. Set the focus mode to manual. Assign the center button for focus zoom.

This way you can get very sharp focus using manual mode.

Do you test it wide open?
