hi was wondering if anyone has the FA* lenses can do a comparison with the DFA? was reading the review on the DFA when i saw the FA* lens.
understand that the FA* is much older and less advance as compared to the FA* but what about the image in terms of sharpness and the bokeh? is it comparable to the DFA?

FA* is 28mm vs DFA at 24mm. I had the FA* and now the DFA and to me, not much difference except the extra mm on the wide side. Of course the AF is slightly faster by a wee bit, so it is still a good lens to get.

DFA 24-70 WR is way better and weather seal, the years of new technology and coating are years ahead.

here is chat for reference.

Old Pentax FA* 28-70 f2.8. it is ok at wide end, but tele end is too soft wide open at 70mm

also the 2nd hand price of these 2 lens are quite similar and old one slightly cheaper, but new lens are holding more value now in general.

tks guys,

Seems like the DFA is more popular than the FA*.
